Celebrating the birth of Brisbane Cool. In 1957 Peter Hackworth opened the ‘Primitif’. With hot jazz, modern art, sultry singers, young men in sweaters, and something wicked in the coffee, the ‘Primitif’ was the home of Brisbane Cool.
John’s compositions reflect a colourful journey in music. From classical beginnings at The Royal College of Music, to the London Jazz scene, and since 2003 a consistent performing career in Australia.

The Enthusiastic Musician’s Orchestra is a swinging modern 16 piece band that has the bluster and bombast of a classic big band plus the subtlety and refinement of a modern jazz orchestra.
The NEQ (Near East Quartet) is a music group founded in 2010. This group consists of saxophonist Sungjae Son, guitarist Suwuk Chung, drummer Jungyoung Song and traditional vocal Yulhee Kim, 4 musicians in Korean traditional music and contemporary jazz scenes who had been looking for a way of cross-genre collaboration over years.
Ethiopian folk songs and prayers, which express the longings of the Beta Israel, Ethiopia's Jews for Jerusalem, are presented in a fresh and modern framework with blues, gospel and jazz influences. Ras Dashen's album is regarded as one of the finest and most original produced in Israel in the last decade and their music emphasizes that the musical roots of blues and jazz are in Africa.
Lateo is the genre defying brainchild of Brisbane based drummer/percussionist and composer Joe Marchisella, who has worked across all genre’s of music both nationally and internationally, playing live and recording with a who’s who of Australian and International music on all continents...
