Hailing from the vibrant music scene of Brisbane, Australia, The Gypsy Cats came together in 2016 and embarked on a musical journey that has seen them become a dominant force in Australia's gypsy jazz landscape. Their musical odyssey has taken them to iconic venues and major music festivals, including Woodford, Brisbane Festival, OzManouche (2020 / 2021 / 2024), Island Vibe, Yonder, and Jumpers and Jazz, where they've left audiences spellbound with their infectious rhythms and captivating melodies. Their dynamic live performances have not only captivated their fans but have also become a favourite at swing dancing events, where their music brings dancers and music enthusiasts together in perfect harmony. The Gypsy Cats have meticulously curated a diverse repertoire that showcases their unique interpretation of the gypsy jazz genre. From infectious uptempo swing and enchanting gypsy bossa to heartfelt traditional jazz ballads and the romance of French waltz, their music offers something for everyone.

Their monthly residency at The Bearded Lady has been running for two years now, consistently packing the venue with audiences from different backgrounds.
