His genre-bending propensity has produced fascinating and unconventional collaborations and this time around is no different. Between the members of his eclectic ensemble Twi-Life there is a wealth of experience in bands ranging from the Soultronics to Roy Haynes, Zhané, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Branford Marsalis, Bilal, Art Blakey, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and countless others.

Strickland’s Twi-Life exceeds the traditional canon of music our generation has championed for the past 2 decades combining the musical stylings of America’s most innovative talents. The music itself is a hybrid of experience and experiments with classic albums like McCoy Tyner’s Trident blending into Strickland-produced beats reinterpreted into thick grooves by his monster rhythm section.
